I ordered this product to help make a few scars less noticeable. I had a scar on my back that I have been using it on, and you can still tell it is there, but all of the skin over the scar is the same color as the rest of my back, making it less noticeable from a distance. You can only see it when you get up close and know what you are looking for. I got this product from the listed seller and received the right size.

    So far, so good

My daughter got a scar on her face. She picked off a scab on her face and the resulting scar was bright red. I gave it some time, but the redness did not fade readily. I understand scars can fade over time, especially on kids; but since it was on her face, I did not want to take any chances. That it only might work was good enough for me. I’ve used Mederma regularly on her face for about a month and it is definitely faded, not so noticeable anymore.

I also have a deep scar that is 35 years old right smack on the bridge of my nose. It’s not fading any more than it has. I decided to try it on that and also a recent burn scar on my arm. The scar on my arm is looking better. It’s still there but smooth and fading. The one on the bridge of my nose is deep. I think it looks better but it will be many months before I think I’ll truly know. I’ll be back to update at that time.

For now, I think it does seem to help and really doesn’t hurt new scar formation.

    Fantastic product!

I’ve had 3 knee surgeries, the first of which was in 2002 from a doctor who really didn’t know what he was doing. As a result, I got this huge scar on my knee with 13 little raised scars from the stitches, that I call my football laces. I’m Asian, so I get keloid scars and eventually I just stopped caring about it since I didn’t think there was anything I could do about it.

I had another surgery in 2006 where the doctor removed my old scar (still had the laces), and I again did nothing. My scar started out as thin and much prettier, but because I didn’t take care of it, it eventually spread because of the stretching of the skin while my knee bent.

Third surgery was in January of this year, the doctor removed my scar again and kept the laces, but this time, I’ve decided to take care of this scar.

I started using Mederma 4 times a day 5 days ago and I all ready see a HUGE difference! My raised laces have smoothed out and are starting to fade. I’m not kidding. The place where my drain was is healing well and the big scar itself is looking great. It’s not too red or scary, and it’s totally soft and looks like a “normal” scar. I can’t wait to see it in another month or two, the timeframe that Mederma recommends.

I really recommend this product to anyone who has a new or an old scar. It WORKS.

    Works better than expected
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I didn’t expect much from this cream but it really does work. On a fresh scar it began softening and smoothing the tissue within 2 weeks. I am just starting to try it on a much older scar so I can’t really comment on that. Its a bit greasy and probably expensive over the long haul but I am excited by the promise and the results so far.

I love this Stuff! The only thing is in my experience you need to consistenly use it every day to get results. But other than that its great!

    Works, but takes time
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I have had sever acne in the past and was left with unattractive scars on my face. I purchased Mederma at my local CVS even though it was expensive, because I needed a solution. Mederma does work well, but don’t expect to see results instantly. You need to apply Mederma regularly and consistently for about a month in order to see results. It really does work though. My scars are much more toned down and less visible.

    no expiration date on products
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
    Good price and fast delivery.

However, on the box and the tube, where

expiration ought to be was left blank.

Made me a little uneasy if the product is legitimate

or has expired. Don’t think I will order it again.

The ones you get from stores always have the

    expiration date clearly marked.

    Mederma Skin Care for SCAMS
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This product doesn’t actually work. It didn’t work for me anywhere I used it, and it didn’t work in a scientific study that tested rabbit ear scars (which someone previously noted): “Histologic analysis demonstrated no significant reduction in scar hypertrophy or scar elevation index…No significant difference in dermal vascularity or inflammation was noted…no significant reduction in scar erythema with Mederma treatment” (Saulis A.S. et al. “Effect of Mederma on hypertrophic scarring in the rabbit ear model).

For the people who claim that this product worked for them, I think your skin either healed on its own, you’re a Mederma employee, or it’s all in your imagination. The only thing that might have had some effect was that you kept the area moisturized while it healed. Even old scars, over the course of weeks or months (which is the amount of time the Mederma tube claims it will take to see improvement, something like 6-8 weeks), will change somewhat. The Mederma has nothing to do with it. There’s no better way to honor the lives of the poor rabbits who died in the study than not buying the product that proved completely ineffective. Please don’t buy Mederma.

    Just Started Using it
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I’ve started using Mederma 2 weeks ago, it’s too early to see final results as it may take upto 3 or 6 months for it to remove the scars. So far my skin has been peeling and I can see some difference. I’m hoping the difference is much noticeable few months from now.

Great product; bad company to buy from
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This product definitely works. I love it. The company listed to buy from isn’t that great, so buyer beware. They listed the product as 1.7oz, but when it arrived it was the .7 oz. They would not send a new shipment and would not correct the problem. The price is good for a .7 oz, but I wouldn’t buy from them again.

    Made the scar worse!!!!!!!
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Don’t use this product. It is a rip off. I did research after I used it and in studies it showed no improvement of the scar area. When I used it on my facial scar it itched a little bit. I left it on thinking thats normal since the itching was slight, and now my scar is worse than ever. It burned the hell out of my skin. Don’t trust this product and don’t waste your money. I am considering a class action lawsuit since there have been tons of reports of problems with this product. You shouldn’t sell a product that doesn’t work and has a chance of making the scar worse.
